Millar West is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, in line with national targets.
While a formal, externally published Carbon Reduction Plan is currently under development, we are actively implementing measures to reduce our carbon footprint.
Our Path to a Carbon Reduction Plan
We are currently undertaking a comprehensive review of our emissions and establishing a baseline footprint for our Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions. This will provide the foundation for setting specific, science-based reduction targets.
Planned Carbon Reduction Initiatives
In the interim, we are focused on the following initiatives to reduce our environmental impact:
Energy Efficiency: We are upgrading to energy-efficient lighting and optimizing our energy use through new management systems.
Renewable Energy: We are actively exploring options for switching to a renewable electricity tariff.
Sustainable Transport: We are developing a policy to reduce commuting for staff members with WFH schemes and conducting supplier engagement meetings virtually. We are also looking to minimise our transport fleet by reducing our vehicle holding and supplementing with hire vehicles and potentially Electric van hire.
Waste Reduction: We are improving our recycling program and minimizing overall waste generation.
We project that our complete Carbon Reduction Plan will be finalized and published on our website by 2nd February 2026. This plan will include specific, quantifiable targets and a declaration signed by our leadership team. We are committed to transparency and will report on our progress annually
